WHO IT'S FOR

This event is for anyone who wants a substance free outdoor experience with good humans. If you have been looking for sober events in Colorado, a sober adventure group that actually gets outside, or a way to make sober friends without bar culture, this is a strong fit.

Best for people who are comfortable with a bumpy mountain road and a full day at elevation.

You do not need to own a 4x4 to join, but you do need a seat in one.

We will do our best to match riders with drivers.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Water: At least 2 liters

  • Food: Pack your own lunch plus a few snacks

  • Footwear: Closed toe shoes with grip for rocky pull offs and uneven ground

  • Layers: Warm layer, rain shell, and a beanie or buff

  • Sun protection: Sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses

  • Personal essentials: Phone, ID, medications, and anything you need for a full day outside

  • Optional: Camp chair, camera, small first aid kit, and handheld radio if you use one for convoy travel

GEAR VALET

Extra layers, daypacks, camp chairs, and a few comfort items may be available on request. Reach out after you RSVP and we will do our best to reduce barriers where we can.

CARPOOLING

Georgetown is about 45 minutes west of Denver!

Carpooling is encouraged, and we especially need a few confident 4x4 drivers with passenger space.

Tell us early if you need a ride in a capable vehicle so we can try to match riders with drivers.

Drivers and riders please sign up here BEFORE registering for this event.

SAFETY + WEATHER

GEORGETOWN WEATHER

This route climbs high into exposed alpine terrain, and snow can linger well into summer. Weather, runoff, shelf road conditions, and vehicle issues can all affect the day. Leadership may shorten the route, change the turnaround point, or head back early if conditions do not feel right. Stay with the convoy, communicate honestly about comfort level, and keep this event substance free from start to finish.

• Outdoor activity comes with inherent risks, including uneven terrain and changing weather

• We prioritize conservative, group-first decision making over pushing objectives

• If conditions are unsafe, we'll adjust the plan or reschedule

• Any changes will be communicated clearly via email and Event Chat

• Not sure about distance or pacing? Reach out — we're happy to help you decide

Your safety and experience matter to us.

COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

  • Substance-free event (including alcohol and drugs)

  • Respect all paces and experience levels

  • We move as a group (no one left behind)

  • Leave No Trace

  • Kindness and privacy
